Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has sparked a major controversy by claiming she is super proud of making divorces easier for so many people.
The celeb used the term uncoupling for the first time when she chose to mention in a blog how she was separating from Chris Martin.
The 50-year-old Goop founder mentioned how uncoupling got a lot of people’s attention. And that happened to be during a period when she and her partner Chris Martin were undergoing a divorce.
She did not find it funny or cool at the time but today, the world has gotten quite a lot of fame and she’s ok with that.
“I have the utmost respect for Chris and I did not know that at the time, this uncoupling term was going to gain a lot of fame. Today, people are loving it and they are thanking me for making divorces not sound too bad”- she added.
“I do not feel that I coined this phrase but at the same time, I want to mention how I took a lot of shit for it”- she explained. The actress says it’s a great feeling to see how it’s being used left and right and people aren’t shy of it anymore.
“I take pride that we were able to make it easier for some people to take this bold step. I know it’s not an easy decision but you’ve got to do some things in life that you might not like”- she went on to reveal. And as you can imagine, netizens were shocked at her choice of words.
The word did not take much time to get famous and now, she claims that people wanted a whole justification for the meaning so the website she owned had to write an entire essay on just that.
