“I REFUSE To Swap Plane Seats So A Child Could Sit With Their Mom! Does That Make Me A Bad Person?”

Traveling with toddlers is never easy and this next story involving a couple and a child is leaving the internet divided.

A lot of people claim to pay extra and ensure they get the seats they want, ahead of time. This is to avoid any last-minute confusion and ensure there is no drama while boarding a plane.

But what do you do when a toddler ends up stealing your plane seat, especially the one that you ended up paying extra for?

It’s actually really never easy to make that decision where you’re forced to speak up and fight for your right but one man says he did what he needed to do because there was no way he was willing to make a huge compromise.

The man explained how one entitled mother felt that it was perfectly alright for her to steal his seat, just because she wanted to be near her daughter.

The move enraged him but what really got on his nerves is how she was not willing to accept her mistake and move and instead felt that since her daughter was young, she had every right to be seated there as the parent.

The traveler who chose to remain anonymous on Reddit says he had paid a lot of extra bucks because he wanted a seat next to his girlfriend. It was a four-hour flight and there was no reason why he shouldn’t be seated next to her in his designated seat.

So when the mother refused to move, he had no choice but to create a moment of chaos and call flight attendants to solve the scenario.

The plane was flying at full capacity so that meant everyone had to be seated at their designated seats with no room for any shuffling.

And while some did feel the man could have compensated for the child, others agreed that no one should feel so entitled to just randomly taken anyone’s seat without asking.

Both, in the wrong. Upon getting tickets, mom should have been explicit that her child must sit with her. As far as the gentleman, sounds like some airline price gouging , to pay more, for a seat (unless first class)

If this gentleman paid extra to sit next to his companion then I don’t blame him. It’s the mothers fault, when you book a flight WITH A SMALL CHILD it’s up to you to make sure the seats are together. If I were the flight attendant I would have asked on the overhead if there was anyone willing to move. I have 6 adult children and o would never just expect anyone to move.

I’m wondering if the woman knew she couldn’t get the seats together before boarding, and decided she would try it on believing people would give into her . No I don’t believe you are selfish or mean. I too would stick to my seat

Oh for goodness sake – I see this man as a self centred creature, standing his ground like a petulant child.

How does that make someone self centered when he paid to get that specific seat? Most airlines charge fees for those upgraded seats or to have the seat you want. The mother was just entitled and stupid for not booking a seat next to her child and instead relying on people to give her the benefit of the doubt. Sorry but that is just selfish.

Just because he’s a man doesn’t make him wrong. Sounds like you have issues with men.

I agree with the man. He paid for that seat he should get that seat. The mom should have made proper arrangements before flying to ensure she would be next to her kids. She should not expect anyone to accommodate her after boarding the plane!!!!!

I’m shocked that these US airlines don’t get their ducks in a row. If someone has payed for the seat then it is theirs to use. Others claiming it is their seat are dishonest. The flight staff should also be on the ball and read the riot act to intervene between those who do not pay for their seats. Is it just America? I’ve travelled world wide on long haul and never had a problem. I always pay for my ticket well in advance. Time parents took responsibility for their young offspring. Who wants children kicking on the back of their seat? Irritating especially if you are trying to sleep.
