We might be months away from Christmas time but that’s not stopping shop owners from getting into the festive spirit ahead of time.
But one mother of 12 has left netizens divided after claiming that stores shouldn’t engage in acts like these as it’s sad for those families who cannot afford it.
Taking to her account on Instagram recently, the mother of 12 named Zoe Sullivan says she is sick and tired of seeing festive and holiday-related things in the market because it’s a reminder to so many who cannot afford it.
The mother who is based in Scotland says that this practice needs to stop and people need to realize that it’s not alright. Therefore, she is now using her platform to raise awareness on the matter so that perhaps some shop owners may take heed.
Zoe lives with her massive family in a six-bedroom home. She says life is difficult as it is and making a living has become harder than ever, thanks to the rising rates of inflation that she feels never come to an end.
Now, she is recording her daily routine and what she does at home so others can understand the struggles of what it’s like to be a family of 13.
“My fans want a day-to-day glimpse of what it’s like to be in my shoes and that’s exactly what I give them through my YouTube channel”- she continued.
And while some days are harder than others, she claims that there is no better time than now to express your frustrations related to the festive fervor that supermarkets have started.
Zoe explained how not only is it hard to get things early, but the fact that most things are present way before the season begins means all the good stuff is sold out. And it’s not fun entering the market during the holiday time and coming out empty-handed.
So in this way, markets are forcing consumers to buy early and not every person is lucky enough to do just that.
