Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger says his heart stopped when he told his wife about his secret son from his affair.
The leading Hollywood actor says it was a moment of deep regret and shame that he wished he never had to go through in his marriage. He was just so devastated at his own self and wished things were not the way they ended up being.
The star was seen getting awfully candid in his latest interview as he reflected on the demise of his marriage. Moreover, he feels it was one of the most draining and heartbreaking moments of his life.
The Terminator star had an affair with the pair’s housekeeper and that led to him getting her pregnant. He always had a secret child that was a boy but he chose to keep this as a secret from his wife for so long.
But one day, the actor says he opted to come clean and that’s when he explained to his now former wife, Maria Shriver about his infidelity and how he had fathered a love child with the pair’s housekeeper.
As expected, she did not take the news too well. The pair were forced to undergo counseling sessions and that’s when he came out clean, breaking her heart into a million pieces.
The former governor from California says he felt as if his heart had stopped and sank for a second. And that’s the point he opted to come out totally clean.
“She was so devastated. I could see that she was crushed by the reality of the situation. It was so hard for me to watch her pain that shone across her face”- he added.
The actor says he’s done a lot of regretful things in his life but watching his former wife’s face while he confessed about his cheating scandal and love child has to be one of the saddest moments of his life.
