Jones was known for a leading role in movies like This is Us where he worked as William Hill. In the same way, his biological dad also won a leading award for a great performance as a guest actor in the year 2018, and that earned him an Emmy. And if that news was not shocking and heartwarming enough, more reports spoke about his daughter getting her first Emmy in the same year as well.

This made history as the first-ever father-daughter duo to attain the status of being winners in the same year at the Emmy Awards.

But in the year 2021, he explained to The New York Times how he was not doing too great physically. His health was in decline and he was battling with a chronic form of lung disease called obstructive pulmonary disease. Therefore, he got a double lung transplant to fix that condition and he reportedly stayed as a patient for a whopping two months at the UCLA Medical Center in the year 2020.
