Britney Spears’ furious mother Lynne has slammed Sam Asghari for ‘abandoning’ the singer after it was reported that the model filed for divorce on Wednesday.
An insider told Daily Mail that the 68-year-old has been left raging over the 29-year-old’s actions.
“Lynne is furious at (Asghari) for abandoning Britney. He took a vow to stand by her side through sickness and health – and he knew she was not well (when they married),” the source said.
The heartbroken mom is now ‘begging’ her daughter to leave Los Angeles and return home.
“Lynne is begging (Britney) to leave LA and live with her,” the insider told the news outlet.
“LA is toxic and the only thing keeping her there was [Sam]. Lynne believes she can heal and regroup in Louisiana, then return to LA when she is ready.”
When Britney and Sam’s relationship started, her friends and family believed that he would be the one to help the singer out as he was described by her relatives as a ‘kind guy’ who wanted to ‘save Britney.’
“The sensible people in her life will be sad that the marriage is over. The feeling was that he thought he could save her, but maybe there is no saving Britney,” the source added.
Another source said that when Sam realized that Britney could not be saved, he ‘checked out of marriage,’ claiming he just ‘sat at home and played video games all day’ before ending their marriage.
“Instead of working with her family to get her help, (they feel that) he abandoned her as soon as things got tough,” the source went on.
