Christina Applegate has announced that she probably won’t return to TV and film after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

The 51-year-old actress, who revealed her MS diagnosis in 2021, previously said that the SAG Awards this year would be the last event she would go to as an actor.

She had been nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor for her role as Jen Harding in the comedy series ‘Dead To Me.’

Speaking to The LA Times earlier this year, the actress said: “It’s my last awards show as an actor probably, so it’s kind of a big deal.”

“Right now, I couldn’t imagine getting up at 5 a.m. and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set; I don’t have that in me at this moment,” she added.

Even though she would no longer continue her acting career, she’s already thinking of other things that she could do.

“Doing a s*** ton of voice-overs to make some cash to make sure that my daughter’s fed and we’re homed,” she said.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Applegate spoke about her future and said that her role in the Netflix comedy series would ‘probably’ be her last in front of a camera.

She spoke about Linda Cardellini – her on-screen partner – and said how they ‘were in love with each other’ from the first day on set.

“It’s rare that you have an equal playing field and you get to play ping-pong instead of tennis. There’s a difference. Ping-pong is so much more fun when the other person is just as good as you are,” she expressed.

“I’m probably not going to work on camera again, but I’m so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I’ve ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I’ve ever known.”
