A social media influencer broke down in tears after strangers rejected her kind offer to pay for their groceries.
Amelia Goldsmith, also known as Milly, was left in tears after multiple strangers refused to let her pay for their items.
The TikToker went to a Sainsbury store in London to ‘cheer someone up during the mid-week slump.’
In the viral video, Goldsmith said: “I just hope they don’t look at me thinking I’m some weirdo.”
But once she entered the store, she approached multiple shoppers with a cheerful and welcoming manner only to have her offer rejected by every patron she asked.
One man angrily asked: “Why?!” and when she explained, he immediately refused.
Another shopper also rejected her kind offer and it was evident in the video that she was starting to feel ‘embarrassed and judged.’
Finally, she approached another woman who also refused to let her pay for her items, telling her: “There are a lot more deserving people in the world” that could use the money she’s offering.
“I was expecting the first person to be like, overjoyed and grateful and happy for me to pay for their shopping, but obviously that didn’t go down well,” Goldsmith said in the video.
In the end, she bought some sauce and pasta and put them in the store’s food bank.
After facing multiple rejections, Goldsmith burst into tears and said: “I’m just really overwhelmed right now, I don’t know what’s going on.”
Despite the stressful encounters, she said she was still happy that she could donate some food for those who are in need.
One person commented: “It’s the filming !!! You all got to stop it! Go help a homeless shelter.”
Another wrote: “I feel that sharing your good deeds online is more about serving your ego than others. Good on you for donating to the food bank.”

There was a time in my life, when I was married (30 years), and my wife and I always had enough cash, and we did help many people, sometimes food sometimes taking them to buy food or a lift to collect medication, after my wife died, our joint pension dropped £1600, and I had to move home, as my single pension, was never going to cover my bills, so now the shoe is on the other foot, feeding my self with only £40 a month and prices still going up every day, I can only buy less and less, this young lady just wanted to bless people, if she had asked to pay for my food, i would of burst into tears and given her a bear hug, I would of also asked for her email address and sent her a letter of thanks and gratitude, young people get a bad wrap these days, shame on them.
unfortunately it was not about helping someone for her,it was just a massive ego stroke. If someone is going to do this, they should not film and share it,Many times I have helped someone who did not have enough money to cover everything even tho we live below the poverty line.I DO NOT expect the whole world to tell me how wonderful I am
