NFL star Lukas Van Ness’ dad was caught slapping his son’s girlfriend on the bum, leaving social media users shocked and baffled.
The footballer’s dad was so thrilled after the Green Bay Packers drafted his son 13th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In a video posted online, the excited father can be seen pumping his fists up before hugging his son’s girlfriend, Frankie Kmet – who is the daughter of retired NFL defensive end Frank Kmet.
Jason was then seen slapping Kmet’s bum and social media users were left shocked, with many saying the father-of-four’s gesture was inappropriate.
One Twitter user commented: “This is the most awkward draft moment of all time.”
Another asked: “Lukas Van Ness’s dad sneaking in a quick 2 piece out here on national tv???”
A third wrote: “Nah this is WILD. that’s his son’s girl and (mom) is in attendance. These ppl crazy.”
The awkward moment came after Kmet gave her boyfriend a passionate kiss.
Van Ness, 21, tallied 19.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks and two blocked puns over three seasons at Iowa, earning him the nickname ‘Hercules.’
In 2021, the footballer was named a freshman All-American and in 2022, he was a second-team All-Big Ten selection.
The Packers’ selection came after the team traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Gets, with Gang Green moving to No. 15 and Green Bay sliding up two slots.
Van Ness previously spoke about his time in Iowa, as per Newsweek, saying: “I just came in as a long, tall, lanky kid who had the frame and the ability once I got in the right program to grow and develop.
“I feel super comfortable with my development, and I feel like it was crucial to the way my career played out at Iowa.”
